Trafalgar Community Development Association
The Trafalgar Community Development Association (TCDA) was established
in 1999 as the result of a number of changes that were affecting the
town.
The TCDA, as a member of the Trafalgar community, values:
* Trafalgar's residents feeling safe.
* The community valuing and supporting families and embracing
people of all ages and cultures.
* People having pride in our community
* The community supporting local people, businesses and
organisations.
* The community appreciating and valuing the environment.
The TCDA is becoming the focal point for local and state government
contact on matters that generally affect the town.
The TCDA has been active in bringing a voice to the community through
the development of a monthly newspaper, the Traf News, and has
resurrected the annual Battle of Trafalgar festival that is held in
October of each year.
The TCDA is presently involved in bringing the community together in an
attempt to plan for the town's future over the next decade. It is
responsible for bringing together members of the community through a
series of four focus groups looking at the town's recreational
development, economic development, land use management and community
development.
From this, a strategic plan and strategic actions was developed
which will set the town's direction for the next few years.
The Trafalgar community is an active community living in one of
Victoria's hidden treasures.

Trafalgar Skate Festival
The Trafalgar Skate Festival was held on Sunday afternoon the 6th March at the Trafalgar Skate Bowl in McCrorey Lane behind the Trafalgar Community Centre.
The program was funded by Youth Foundations Victoria and the event was well supported by many local young people and organisations,
such as 1st Trafalgar Scout Group, Rotary Club of Trafalgar, Trafalgar Community Development Association (TCDA), Trafalgar Youth Resource Centre and
Baw Baw Shire Council which resulted in a very successful day.
Trafalgar Community Quilt Project
Circles of Friendship
There is a small group of very enthusiastic women who meet every fortnight in the Trafalgar Uniting Church main hall.
They are very busy creating a quilt which celebrates being part of the Trafalgar community. They have also formed a warm ‘circle of friendship’.
As a result of receiving a grant from the Trafalgar & District Community Bank® branch, the quilt project,
which is facilitated by Di Harrison, is taking shape and already many 10 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch blocks have been completed.
The blocks cover themes which relate to family, friendship, habitat, history and community.
In 2010, Di participated in the Gippsland Community Leadership Program, and decided to facilitate a project which would provide
an opportunity to strengthen social connectivity in Trafalgar.
The completed quilt will be launched during the ‘Battle of Trafalgar’ festival which is held in late October.
